But, what about the hottest stars in the Universe? How do you know they are the hottest stars? What makes them so amazing that deserve to get appreciation? Here, we have a list of the hottest stars in the universe many astronomers believe they deserve to get an award.

10. 40 Eridani A

If you love the story of “Star Trek”, basically this is the star they identify as the location of the planet Vulcan, the homeworld of Mr. Spock. Up to now, scientists did not find any planet around this star. But, the research done by Dr. Angelle Tanner, a scientist with the planned SIM PlanetQuest mission shows there is no reason that a habitable planet could not be formed around the star. So, the mission can help us find whether it is possible to find Vulcan or not. If it is there, of course, we can search for the habitable planets.

9. HD 69830

It is a star like a sun and the location is 40 light-years from our planet. The star is so interesting for scientists to learn about, especially to help them explore the origins of the solar system. It contains trio planets with the size that will remind you to Neptune. One is the habitable zone. Also, NASA’s Spitzer Space Telescope has spotted a dusty asteroid belt surrounding the star to provide astronomers the rare information about how the formation or the process of rocky planets. What scientists did was to observe the interactions between dust, the asteroid belts, and the planetary system as it has been explained by Dr. Charles Beicheman, the lead author of a paper from Spitzer’s discovery. He also added that perhaps scientists could not see other terrestrial planets directly, but they could study about the dusty fossils.

 8. 55 Cancri

So far, 55 Cancri is the warmest and fuzzy stars from all the planetary systems scientists have discovered in the universe. It is like the best home, a system to support four planets. One of those planets is the smallest scientist could detect so far. The most interesting part of this discovery is that 55 Cancri is quite possible to have a terrestrial planet, in a smaller size in the habitable zone. But, our instrument cannot detect this planet yet.

7. HD 209458 And HD 189733

It is all about the first direct detection of spectra or molecular fingerprints in the atmosphere beyond the solar system. The Spitzer Space Telescope was the landmark of the achievement. It was a significant step that can detect the possible life on the rocky exoplanets. Well, our astronomers have anticipated this matter for many years.
Based on the data from the two gaseous planets with their orbit quite close to their suns, there was an indication that they are cloudier and drier. Of course, this discovery was far away from scientists’ predictions. Eventually, there was no water in their atmospheres.

6. Epsilon Indi A

Margaret Turnbull, an astronomer of the Carnegie Institution of Washington has compiled a list of up to 17,000 potential and habitable stellar systems. The candidate stars may support some form of life. She then called Epsilon Indi A, with 11.8 light-years away as the top candidate for more investigation planned by NASA’s Terrestrial Planet Finder mission.

Back in 1995, A report presented by Swiss astronomers. At that time, they discovered the first planet that was out of the solar system, located in the orbit around the star 51 Pegasi, in which 48 light-years from Earth. It was the beginning of the field of extrasolar planet research.
In fact, the planet was not suitable for life. Also, the star hosts smaller terrestrial planets but our scientists could not detect them yet. Finding out whether the smaller planets are like earth or not, we need to wait for future technology. Indeed, we need more sensitive, advanced, and space-based instruments to make more discoveries.

4. HAT-P-1

It was in September 2006, astronomers announced their discovery of the new class of planet. The radius is 1.38 times of Jupiter and the orb is like a marshmallow with one-fourth the density of water. It is like Saturn that HAT-P-1 b may float in a bathtub. Just in case you can find a tub that is big enough to hold it, it could float for almost three times higher. Up to now, why it was in a swollen condition still a big mystery.

From here, scientists also learned that Upsilon Andromedae b is an exotic and amazing world. It is a gas giant planet rotating very close to its sun. So, it is hot on one side and cold as ice on the other. Of course, it was the first time to discover this kind of variation when it comes to an extrasolar planet.

1. Gliese 581

European astronomers made a historic announcement in 2007. They could detect the first, potentially habitable planet that orbits a star other than the sun. So, planet Gliese 581b orbits the red dwarf, the type of star that is quite different from the sun. The planet is small enough but quite solid, not gaseous. Researchers explained that the planet orbits in the nice spot so that liquid water is possible to find.
